Lake Nakuru

Millions and millions of flamingos

Lake Nakuru is set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland. It includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with euphorbia forest.

While best known for its flamingos, there are also large flocks of pelicans and many other bird species. It is home to a vast variety of wildlife including waterbuck, leopard, and Rothschild giraffe. The park is a sanctuary for black rhino and you often see them wandering along the lakeshore. There are also many white rhino.

We often get leopard and lion very close to camp, which is exciting.

Although this is one of Kenya’s busiest parks we do our best to ensure that you see as few other people as possible by recommending you stay in our own luxury private mobile camp.

It is definitely a place to include in your safari for the sheer abundance of wildlife.
