Day 1: Giraffe Manor

Met at the airport by your guide and transferred to Giraffe Manor. This small hotel is situated in the leafy outskirts of Nairobi. The rooms are carefully appointed with wonderful views of the Ngong Hills and Giraffes that join you for breakfast! 1 night Giraffe Manor

Day 2, 3 and 4 : Amboseli Private Concession

Fly by private charter to Amboseli Private Concession, on the Kenya/Tanzania border. Here we have a long-standing relationship with the local Masai people, from whom we lease a private concession area for our exclusive use. Day 5, 6 : Borana Lodge

Early breakfast in camp, drive to Borana Lodge. From its spectacular site on Borana Ranch, the lodge commands dramatic views of the high bush and mountain ranges of Mt Kenya and the Laikipia plateau. Staying at Borana Lodge is a wonderful experience, a combination of wilderness, extravagance, elegance privacy and homey comfort. Fuzz and Bimbi Dyer, whose family own the ranch, host it with unique flair and share their magical home with joy. Six luxurious suites in rustic cottages are set along the ridge; the shape of each is determined by the curving contours of the hillside. The baths are set with views across the valley and the beds are huge. Day 7, 8: Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast fly by private charter to Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley. The park is best known for its flamingos; there are also large flocks of pelicans. Acacia and euphorbia forests as well as grassland and rocky cliffs surround the lake. It is home to a vast variety of wildlife including waterbuck, leopard, and Rothschild giraffe. Day 9: Lake Victoria

Fly by private charter to Rusinga Island, a private paradise in the vastness of Lake Victoria. The eight beautifully appointed cottages each face the lake; you can sit on your veranda with a breeze gently blowing over you, listening to the waves lapping sea-like on the shore or delight in the evocative call of the fish eagle. Here you will be able to fish for Nile perch and also visit Ruma National Park, where we can search for the rare roan antelope. Alternatively you could simply lie by the swimming pool resting up for the next leg of your safari. 1 night Rusinga Island

Day 10, 11, 12, 13 : Masai Mara

A short flight to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest game-viewing area. Everything about this reserve is outstanding. The wildlife and birds are abundant. The Mara escarpment on the horizon dominates the gentle rolling grassland. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and with well-spread rainfall year round. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is in the Mara, the sensation is unparalleled. The Mara is known especially for its predators, particularly lion, cheetah and hyena, as well as plains game such as gazelle, zebra, topi and impala; you might also see elephant, buffalo and giraffe. 4 nights luxury private camping, Masai Mara

Day 14: Hemmingways Hotel
